The National Grid have reported a surge in demand for electricity from the Rhondda and other valleys today, as rugby fans tackle DIY jobs at home in an attempt to make the day go faster, in anticipation for tonight’s game against the English at 8pm.
Drills, Sanders and other electrical DIY equipment can be heard throughout the valleys today as more and more people turn to DIY to pass the time.
7 Hours to go
Ceri Jones of Rhondda Terrace Ferndale said, “I don’t know what to do next, it’s only 1 o’clock and I’ve put up six shelves, hung 3 pictures and sanded 2 doors, and there’s still another 7 hours to go until kick off. It’s absolutely ridiculous really”
Too Pissed
Jim Evans of Porth said, “I don’t know what to do with myself, I’ve walked the dog 6 times and I’ve even cleaned the bathroom, I don’t want to go out too early or I’ll be too pissed before the game starts.”
The Rugby World Cup organisers have been slated for the late kick off but they said they must take into account viewers on the other side of the world.
